Gem is a story about self discovery, acceptance and appreciating who you are.  As humans we are naturally selfish and self involved and therefore inconsiderate of others  so our perspectives tend to be  reflective of that. We allow other's perceptions of us define who we are and it is not until we leave our comfort zones that we truly discover who we are and what we are capable of.  For me it  is finishing this book.
