@Ara-so 1) Other than Ayanokōji, which characters do you enjoy writing the most?
For me, writing from Ayanokōji's perspective feels most comfortable because I have a justification for why the narrative is so dense and hard to understand, given his nature.
As a writer, I struggle with simplification, which is a basic concept for creating a coherent narrative. I simply can't control my impulse to add more detail because I have a perfectionistic tendency toward certain details (borderline obsessive, if not already one), and, well, I'm scared of being misunderstood, I guess.
For this reason, I do not particularly like writing any character in general, except for smarter ones like Ryūen, Nagumo, Sakayanagi, and others, because of the same comforting rationale.
2) What made you write Sole Elite Disclosed? Were you inspired by other fics?
At one point, I used to write "What if" stories for Ayanokōji, exploring different moves in various scenarios. However, one day, some readers suggested that I should write a full story based on one of the "What ifs" I created.
I wasn't particularly inspired by any fanfiction in terms of schemes or themes, but if we're talking about concepts in general, then the fics with Class S (or any extra class) as the main premise would be the ones.
3) Has writing this story changed your perspective on some topics?
Rather than saying it changes my perspective, I feel it is more appropriate to say it gives me greater opportunities to learn. For me, even if two "premises" directly contradict each other, it doesn't create much cognitive dissonance; I simply consider both equally valid within their respective contexts.
For one, I've never been focused on reaching an absolute, objective truth. If anything, I've always been intrigued by the subjective truths of each and every one of you. Whatever "truth" you choose to reflect, I'm here to acknowledge and appreciate it.
