Just thought of a good tip for starting every chapter of your story with a bang! Imagine, years into the future, your book is famous world-wide, and they even start quiz shows about it. One of the questions is 'what word does chapter 4 start with?' You want this to be as hard as possible for the contestants, so starting with a verb or an adjective is a lot better than something simple like 'The'.
