          	The ring came first.

A silver promise ring. Way too serious. Way too fast. Given by the wrong person.

The boy who gave it to her was her ex’s younger stepbrother. As if that wasn’t messy enough, he asked her out to lunch right after. She said no, out of respect for his brother. Normal response. Correct response.

          	He screamed.

Full-volume meltdown. Yelling that they were “only stepbrothers anyway.”

That’s when the older brother turned the corner and punched him. Then apologized to my friend, because somehow he still had manners, before calling their dad to ask permission to keep beating him up.

          	Permission was granted.

In the middle of the chaos, my friend came out as a lesbian.

The adopted sister confessed she felt the same way.

          	My friend said yes.

We went back to her house, only to be ambushed by her mom cooking dinner and casually asking if she’d talked to any boys that day. We froze. Because the boys’ mom and hers are best friends. This story was absolutely getting back to her.

          	Then the final reveal landed.

          	The ring wasn’t even his.

He’d stolen his eldest sister’s debit card to buy it.

My friend kept the ring anyway. She’s getting it resized.

          	Not for him.

          	For her new girlfriend.

Sorry if this is a bother!

In ancient myth, the River Styx marked the boundary between worlds — a shadowed passage where souls left the living behind and stepped into fate itself. Even the gods feared its waters, swearing oaths they dared not break. To cross the Styx was to embrace transition, truth, and the unshakeable laws of destiny.

Now, we invite you to make that same crossing.
Step beyond the ordinary. Leave the familiar shore.
Enter a realm where stories carry weight, choices echo, and every creation feels carved into myth.

This is your passage. This is your oath.
          Welcome to Styx.
