Why can't my family understand that by making me wear clothes that they like, they are restricting me from being independent and expressing myself? Like, nana, you don't have to care over my choice of clothes. You ain't the one who people will judge, it's me who they gon judge. I'm nearly 18 and I have only a few items of clothing that I love, the rest either a like or love-hate or just loath. And try to understand that I don't like short sleeves for a reason. My arms are quite muscled and short sleeves makes me insecure about them. And having short sleeves on my school uniform ain't my problem, I can't do anything about it, that's school policy. Wearing short sleeves at home is different to when I wear short sleeves when I want to look pretty when I go out, my arms just takes out the pretty in my opinion.

@honeycomb2010 I didn't raise younger siblings only. Out of my generation's five (I'm the eldest of my gen) I raised four. But they think they know their kids better. Like hell, I know my cousins and siblings better than their parents. They respect me. Even if their parents tell them not to do something, they don't listen. But when I tell them, they listen. My cousin, the eldest out of the four, is a picky eater but I can make her eat things that they can't make her eat. But when one of them cries because they wanna be stubborn, suddenly I'm the bad guy

I am shook. You might ask "why?". Well, I found out that my mum's generation had the least "You're dating my ex? But you're my best friend" problems. Last night my mum took me to her best friend's house because said best friend wanted to introduce her new boyfriend to my mum. Lo and behold, it's mum's ex. Mum tells her best friend that it's her ex after he leaves. They had a talk on what they like about him while I sat on the couch, dumbfounded. I first thought that I was asleep
