I am an aspiring writer, but a much more avid reader. There are numerous times when I have something that I want to write, but then a story would catch my eye and I would say, "I'll do mine later."

And then something will catch my attention again. And Again. And Again.

I like reading romantic novels. I first started reading normal straight-laced stories. You know, the typical girl falling in love with a boy, and they would live happily ever after. But this got old after a while. I started seeing the ending way before I was halfway the book.

So I started to look for complications. There's a third party, there's a disease, there's a situation, there's death, etcetera.

Now, I feel like I've read too much and nothing appealed to me anymore.

So I looked for more complications.Lately, I started reading homosexual books. Boy-boy or Girl-girl pairings. With this, I discovered how different the problems these pairs faces in their everyday life. Their situations are broader, more complex, and every time I thought I already read everything, I would discover something new.

There are stories that would make me wonder, would the protagonist choose the normal way in the end? Would they succumb to the social pressure?

Now, I'm not saying I'm not reading straight paired stories anymore. I so would, as long as the story is good!
