I am a writer and painter. Currently I am working on short stories and prose poems. I never thought of doing either, but suddenly these two forms have become important. I am a poet by nature, I think. Then I decided to be a novelist, but the novel went off in several directions with some resurrectable passages of poetry in it. That brought me to the short story, which I felt had the key to creating a central focus. But as I told my friends, the greatest thing about my stories is that there's no story. How can a reader be happy then? This is not an acceptable state, yet I'm not thinking of changing for now. Along comes the prose poem, which is a child of all these forms and I say, why not? This may be the solution for a storyless story, a poetic novel, and a natural poet. Ha! We shall see.
About my painting, I am a figurative painter. People have such wonderful gestures, postures and figures, that I have to capture these fleeting forms; and I love color too, so I try to make the strongest combinations of colors, as heady as possible.
