She ends up with a crush on one of her fathers students Jack Frost Durandual,son of Serge Durandual. She talks to him once, and tells him about how she feels regarding her brother when he tells her that there is more to life than studying to get her brothers approval and love (which she already has) She shuts down her feelings for him even though they still burn strong within her heart. A student my the name of Riot takes advantage of her weakened state and convinces her to help him get part of the unicorns horn. Jack's love for Ella still glows strongly and continuously tries to prove to her he cares. Riot sees that Jack is getting closer to Ella and beginning to keep her away from him, and uses a lip binding spell oh her to keep her from saying the three words "I love you" Jacks love for Ella breaks the spell saving her life. Ella and jack grow Closer, klaus sees this and is happy that his daughter is out of her shell, she finially joins the academy and ends up buddies with her boyfriend. Later Ella Confesses to her brother about how she's felt and finally learns thanks to jacks help, that he loved her more than magic. Jack and Ella end up married, but that happens latter
