ONC time!! Think I might go with prompt #78–“If it gets dark once a month, then come the angels to town. What if the angels are not the innocent ones and are only here to destroy the world?”

What prompts are you guys choosing?? Let me know!

Hello, I was wondering if you were going to finish We Could Be Dreamers?

CarterNation

@PaperThinSkin14 Oh okay, I just thought it was going to be longer. Can't wait to read it :)

@CarterNation it’s the sort of thing where I do want to finish it, but don’t have any set deadline to. All I need to write is an epilogue, though—the actual story part is pretty much wrapped up.

ONC’s back, and so am I!!

I chose Prompt #33 this year—“and I pressed my cheek against the ground, and prayed the dead bodies would cover my scent.”

Ten years ago, Julia Reddings’s girlfriend climbed a set of stairs in the woods and never came back down.

When she was just a teenager, Julia Reddings watched her girlfriend Alice ascend a staircase in the middle of the woods and vanish at the top without a trace. In the ten years since, Julia hasn’t been able to find Alice. Or the stairs. Now working as a park ranger, Julia has gathered the stories behind every paranormal encounter and local legend she can get her hands on, trying to unravel the mystery of her girlfriend’s disappearance. But it seems that Alice has been wiped off the face of the earth.

Until she finds the stairs again.

Desperate for the truth, Julia returns to the place she lost Alice. But the woods that were once so dear to her are different, now. They feel dangerous. And the staircase that took Alice ten years ago is calling to her.

Hi, I just finished reading My Dear Damsel which I loved, and look forward to reading more of your creations. Any indication as to when you will have something more ready for perusal? Laverne

PaperThinSkin14

@LaverneClarke I think I’ll finish the stories here, yeah—though I have no clue when that’ll be. And I’m so glad you like my writing, thanks so much!!

@LaverneClarke Wow, thx for the prompt response. I will certainly check out Whacky Writers! Any chance you may complete the stories currently on Wattpad? I really do like your writing. My first requirement for reading a novel is simple: Well written with some effort made grammatically. Then fun, good storyline/plot and believable characters. You do this well! Thanks for sharing your artistry!

@LaverneClarke Hi!! My time on Wattpad has pretty much come to an end—I’ll be finishing off whatever WIPS I have on this profile, and I’ll leave everything up, but I doubt I’ll ever post anything new here.

However, I have started writing on a new site called Wacky Writers. I’ve actually got a short story posted start-to-finish there!! It’s another queer fantasy story, but a bit darker, and DEFINITELY better-written (I was like 14 when I wrote MDD and I’m still shocked by its success.) Anyways, if you’re interested…

Hey, guys!!

First off, I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone who made it through the first round of ONC!! All my stories made it through, which means that you can expect updates on every novella pretty much every day. Since oh my god, I have so much to write now.

I also wanted to give a shoutout to @alexan629 who designed the absolutely breathtaking new cover for Where The Lost Things Go.

Now, to everyone who didn’t make it through the first round of ONC this year, don’t give up. Don’t stop writing. You can still participate in ONC whether or not you pass through the rounds, so keep on going!!

purpleprosewriter

@PaperThinSkin14 Congrats again on getting all three books past! You go!! Good luck with the next round!!
