@readerofftheradar thanks so much for reading :D We all have our own methods, but one way I tackle plot is to look at it from a three act perspective (I know you've probably heard this before, but I'll break it down anyway). So Act 1 is Normal--the set up of where, who, what, etc. The basis of your character's usual life (whether usual to us or not). Then there's a moment of choice or change that happens that shifts them into Act 2, Abnormal--this is the part in the middle where all the action tends to happen. So I look at this phase like a mountain--I write out all the horrible, tragic, terrible things I can do to that MC in their particular situation and then fit those pieces up the mountain trail, from bad to OMGWTF. LOL Then the final conflict moment of choice, the BIG MOMENT happens and that shifts the MC into Act Three, their New Normal.
Hope that makes sense (and helps!) :D Happy reading--and writing.
