To kick off 2021, let me introduce to you my new visual identity made with my amateur graphic design skills and my trusty almost ten-year old DSLR camera! New year, new me in the making; this is the perfect time for dusting off my creativity! To read more about my creative process going into this, you may continue reading below!
I'll preface this message by saying a lot happened behind the scenes to kick off 2021 with a fresh start, learning from my successful trials and mistakes; every bad experience is a lesson that is adding to the challenge overall, which is to step up my game! My new visuals aren't as refined as I wanted them to be, but it only means there is room for learning and trying more!
Since the last time I posted a chapter of When the birds stopped chirping a few months back, I've finally gotten back into the gist of creating! I'm going to explore new ways of making my content more authentic to reflect the person I am and the things that I like. It will be a lot of experimenting at first, but I'm up for the challenge!
My chosen color scheme will be based around bright shades that I feel characterise me the most: purple that is my brand's predominant colour, beige and blue that represent to me the act of writing, red-pink that is one of my favourite colours.
For more backstory, when I resumed on my publication schedule last year, I had to choose between publishing When the birds stopped chirping's latest chapters on a regular basis, work on my other stories and designing my brand. At the risk of putting too much pressure on myself, I chose to focus more on getting you new chapters of When the birds stopped chirping as soon as possible, to be honest. Now that I'm in the process of changing myself, I have to rethink my publishing strategy in many aspects, and there is no better time than this new year's beginning to start anew!
See you later for new, exciting, developments, thank you for reading!
