Good Afternoon, Everyone,
I hope this message finds you well. Unfortunately, this isn't just a casual greeting but something important I need to address. As we say in my country, "I want clear your head." This means I have a bone to pick, and I’m not going to edit or sugarcoat this message.
This is specifically for the readers who have taken it upon themselves to attack me after reading Donovan or the Dark Love series.
You’ve called me all sorts of names, labeled me a narcissist, or outright wicked. Some of you have crossed boundaries by entering my personal space to insult and condemn me because of a fictional story. Let me address this directly:
You pick up my book, read it from start to finish—clearly engaged enough not to stop—only to come back and hurl negativity my way. While I understand that not every story will resonate with everyone (and that's okay), I must remind you: I am not writing for everyone.
(If you no like am, I beg, waka pass. Ice cream no dey beg anybody to lick am.)
At the end of the day, it’s just a book. A dark romance novel written for entertainment. Some people enjoy stories with an element of danger—that doesn’t make them self-destructive. Loving horror movies doesn’t make someone a serial killer, right? My goal is to entertain and, yes, earn a living in the process.
Criticism is normal, but attacking my work and person is not acceptable. If my stories aren’t your cup of tea, there are countless other writers and genres to explore. Please, find what you love and stick with it. I include content warnings for a reason—heed them.
To those responsible for these messages, know this:
I read and delete your comments for two reasons:
1. They add no value to me.
2. They disrespect my hard work, and I won’t pretend otherwise.
I appreciate my readers, and I’m thankful for those who genuinely enjoy my work. Constructive feedback is always welcome, but let’s keep it respectful.
Let’s share love, not hate.
With Love,
Pen Glowy
