@arkham71 Of course! It turned out a lot different than I first expected, if I'm being honest. I enjoyed the setting of the story, which I took to be in the late 19th Century/early 20th Century. Then, the noticeable shift into a bit of fantasy and Science Fiction took the story in a whole new direction.
To finally answer your question, I did enjoy it. It is certainly different from what I'm used to, but I think that the concepts were explained well, and I did not find myself pondering the meanings of terms or practices for very long, if at all. I also enjoyed the allusions to different authors and elements of modern culture mixed in.
Additionally, I favor simplistic covers, and the cover is both recognizable and wonderfully simple, so I find that as another point in its favor.
Might I ask, though, what 'ONC' stands for?
