Spitballing more plot ideas!

I was thinking it would be fun if, at some point, Jezabat reunited with her old Pink teammates. Maybe they’re all invited to up in the Games world for a reunion or something.

If Fred’s people and the other folks in the Underneath are any indication, it seems like people in this world can just keep on living until they’re killed by something. But I had this idea, like… what if some people spawned with chronic illnesses or conditions that mess their bodies up, and other people developed these conditions at a later point in their lives?

So, I had another plot idea. It turns out that, after over a decade of hosting the Games and making them fun again, this kind of thing is starting to happen to Otto. He’s starting to develop one of these conditions. Otto is getting sick and needs to step down from running the games, which is something we find out through both the former competitors and Harper.

At the aforementioned reunion, the announcement is made that he’s gonna step down, and everybody gasps.

But the thing is, Otto is very hesitant to retire and isn’t too stoked about it, because this is his duty! He’s got to make up for the not-so-great things he’s done!

Yeah, it’s his turn with the pain baton. Jezabat would probably be surprised, for sure, but then she’d want to take a moment to thank him for everything he’s done to try helping free the competitors, even when their situation sucked back then, and their attempts weren’t successful. ‘Cause in my head, he did make those kinds of efforts.

Fantasy roleplaying in The Next Chapters is mostly inspired by the Minecraft roleplays people do, like Minecraft Diaries, for example. But it also takes inspiration from Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Legends, and mods, particularly mods that have some kind of story to them.

At some point, Jezabat (and Lukas?) directs a musical called Cartographers Prefer Emeralds. I have no idea what the plot is, but it has the vibe of classical Broadway musicals from the 1940s-60s. That’s what it sounds like.

Jezabat does this to introduce musicals to the good people of Beacontown, and this world in general.
