I’ve never really posted anything to do with my religion on here but I’m a Christian. And I really wanted to say something about today. It’s not a poem or work of literature so it’s going here instead of in a book.
What child is this who lays to rest, on Mary’s lap is sleeping?
The King of Kings, Lord of Lord’s, Savior to all, the Son of God, and yet a small baby wrapped in swaddling clothes.
A Savior who is Christ the Lord.
That little baby, a newborn child, only hours old, and yet he already knew what would await him in 33 years. He knew he was coming to die on the cross and he knew how painful it would be—both his death and the life that would lead up to it. Even though he was a baby, he knew why he had come.
If he wanted to, he could have vanished in a flash of light there and then, or even vanished from memory, plucking thoughts and happenings from the existence of the world until Mary and Joseph forgot why they even came to the stable in the first place, and why an empty manger lay next to them.
But he chose to stay for US, and today marks the anniversary of that decision.
CHRISTmas.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone
