@MrsStillChill Hey lad, it's good to hear from you and I hope things are going well for you too! I just finished my last final so I can finally get back to my hobbies. By no means am I an expert, but I will gladly give you any tips I've learned along my journey. When writing Alastor you have to remember 3 main things: 1.) He's a gentleman 2.) He's a serial killer 3.) He's Ace Alastor by heart is a seasoned gentleman. He will be portray "kindness" to strangers, do the typical "open the door" or the "ladies first" kinda thing. He also led radio talk shows in his original life so he has quite the silver tongue. He's a witty and cunning devil. So, when you're writing Alastor doing something, he should be doing it in a refined mannerism. If he ever gets ticked off, I feel like he'd still be pretty gentlemanly and take out whoever is displeasing him in a classy way. Its also because of this behavior that it's easy to forget he's a killer behind possibly thousands of human an demon deaths combined. So naturally he's also sneaky and a master of deception. Combined with his twisted persona and silver tongue, that's an easy recipe for being manipulative. Not to mention, this guy has a moral code. Twisted, but he has some rules set for himself which limits his decisions to act on killing. He doesn't always kill for the hell of it, only when he needs to satisfy one of his desires or he's really ticked off. And a lot of Alastor fics forget that he's ace, which means he doesn't have an interest in sex or typical PDA stuff. For me that's the easiest part to write since I'm also ace. When you're writing about his close relationships or attempts to display affection, always remember that there is more than one way to portray love, and that love exists in all kinds of form. Of course, you're still free to portray Alastor however you want in that context since it is your fic! But personally I enjoy writing him as ace because his actions have more weight to them. Hope this helps!
