The year is 2020. Fifteen year old me is pondering the idea of a superhero whose power is the ability to naturally see cells on the microscopic level. In comes spring break, and I begin writing...
That was four years ago. There was no outline or plan whatsoever, just me and a blank Google Docs page. Spring break ended up being the start of lockdown and so I continued cracking on. By late May and early June, I had been writing about 1k word a day. That also meant posting daily chapters.
To this day, I have no idea how I did that. I don't think I'll ever have that amount of self control again, to just write a story from beginning to end with no pause. March 2020 to June 2020 was a wild three months. By no means am I proud of the writing I did--- quite frankly, I still cannot read it without dying of embarrassment and wishing that I did things differently. Still, I am proud that it happened.
Flower, my horrendous yet beautiful Marvel fanfiction, reached 100k reads earlier today. This is a number I cannot even begin to fathom, so I don't think I can even express how much gratitude I have right now. I mean... just last week, Flower was added to one of @fanfic's reading lists. Yes, I had to fill out a submission form (so long ago that I don't even remember filling it out), but this is still so wild to me.
So thank you. Even if you haven't read Flower and am just reading this, thank you. Thank you for your interest, your kind words, and your enthusiasm. Most of all, thank you for giving me your time.
I haven't finished a single story since Flower, but I still have so many ideas floating around. I hope you all continue to be patient with me and stick around for when I finish my next work. If not, that's fine too. Thank you for the time you have already given me.
