Does anyone know how to message writers on AO3? I want to get permission before posting byler fics from there onto here because I can’t stand the AO3 format. I also want to give them the proper credit before I post their stories.

I need a vampire byler story so bad but I feel like if I were to write it, I wouldn’t be able to fully capture the way Mike and will act, talk, etc. and I really want to give them justice. What do I do guys???
@URLOCALCANCER22 thank you for this!! I’m still not sure if I should write this story (I’m so busy in school and I would probably get major writers block) but this is super helpful for the future
First off, you should try skimming through some episodes of the show throughout the seasons, try finding moments where both of them are full of emotion in different situations, just to see how they talk, and act, but if you’re too lazy like me, reference their personalities on one situation, like ok if it’s a vampire x vampire trope then find a moment that you recognize where Mike could be sort of energetic in a daring way, or you could reference him off of Boris, and for Will, watch the second and fifth season, his emotions are a lot more powerful and angry per say. So yeah, I know it’s a lot but it can really help, and I always will help a fellow writer in need
SPOILERS OF STRANGER THINGS AHEAD
One question: Why does every queer character have to “use” or find themselves (self acceptance) through their first love? I’m so tired of this trope being reused and my sadness turned into fury. I would not consider this a good way to close out Will’s character. What was all of this byler buildup for…???? We were queerbaited so bad this genuinely ruined the season for me. The show will always have a special place in my heart, but Idk how to feel knowing that everything they dangled in my face over the course of the entire show was for nothing.
@URLOCALCANCER22 literally. It feels like a stab in the back. They made will go through all of this trauma and made him fall in love with his best friend, dragged it in for 5 seasons, just for him to (out of the blue) realize that Mike will never reciprocate feelings for will in a romantic way. THEY EVEN MADE WILL SAY “she’d rather get it over with like ripping off a bandaid”, which we obviously know he’s talking ab himself, so it just feels so wrong that they made will have hope in vol one that Mike would love him back just to finally rip that bandaid off after they got so much money off of byler. Smh
I know I’m a little late on replying to this, but why the hell would they exploit a queer kids trauma just for emotional and shock value?!? Like why the hell was Will going through so much shit just to end up meeting some guy named goddamn Carlton??
I saw someone say that “will has never been a reliable narrator. Vecna was just in his mind and has done what he did as a way to scare Will, which promptly gave him a reason to come out to everyone. Will saying Mike is his Tammy would negate everything we know about Will because Will has been in love with Mike for years and he’s not just going to get over that. He could’ve said this because he doesn’t have hope and we see this when Will says “I had a crush on someone… I know they’re not like me (gay)”… there’s 2 things wrong with this
1: will has been in LOVE with Mike and will doesn’t know Mike is or isn’t like him- why would Mike, in the 80s, come out to someone he has a crush on if he doesn’t know wills gay
2: Mike didn’t know will was gay and now he does. Will coming out to Mike can give him insight into his own def and give him courage to approach will romantically.
PLUS!!! The painting gate has not happened yet and has been confirmed to get addressed” and now I have no byler doubt

@Ponyboyshelper YES they said that painting get will pay off so hopefully yes!! Like mike is not wills Tammy.. tammy was a hallway crush and robin and tammy knew nthn abt eachother but mike has been wills crush for like over 5 years its not a "crush" it's deep rooted love and will and mike know eachother more than they know abt anyone else in the group. The dufferes close of relationships that are not real, really quickly but with byler they dragged that over MULTIPLE seasons.
I’m utterly dissatisfied, disappointed, distraught, and literally any other emotion that means sad and furious because what the FUCK was all of this slow burn for if we weren’t granted with byler endgame??? Genuinely i could go on for hours about this generational flop.
@Ponyboyshelper deffo a LOT of people are alr mad at them just for the script writing and lack of centered story telling and plot holes and bylers are just gonna add more heat to the thing
