To my readers (if I still have any)

I have been MIA for a while now and I thought it would be best to give you guys a reason for my absence. I started university this year and to be more specific, I'm in med school at the moment. So, with that being said, I've been struggling to find a balance between work and my own personal needs because I have a huge workload that needs to be dealt with on a daily basis. BUT, recently, I've been jotting some paragraphs down so that I could get into the swing of writing again.

I have absolutely no idea when I'll be posting again, but I'm trying to find time to write.

Until then, thanks for your support with my works.

So I have been seeing you in forums and I decided to check out your profile. I always read someone's "about me" section just so I can get a bit of understanding of who they are. I'm trying to rebuild my relationship with God as self doubt arose within a few years back. I really needed to read those last lines on your about me. Thank you so much for writing that.

Sometimes God gives us messages in the most unexpected of places when He wants to talks us. God loves you; He always will and He always has. Sometimes we think God is far away from us when He's actually right there waiting for us and it's so simple to reach Him (i.e. through the Bible and through prayer). If you feel like talking as a Christian to a Christian or just as a friend, you can PM me :)

Loved the first chapter of Penguin Season. It reminded me of when I had this super long conversation about time with my dad.

Writing5Temperament

We were watching Deja vu and we started talking about time and what was the most realistic way of looking at. Is time a line? Is it a circle? Or is it just a point that simply exist? We talked about how there is no real way to tell time by itself, you have to use objects. People use the sun, the seasons, people use the aging of people and objects to tell time. But what if there were no objects, no people, no seasons. You can count it, but what's the most accurate way to count it. People haven't always kept track of time the way that we do now. People say time is an illusion, which could be true. What if there's no such thing as time at all? Time only matters if there's something/someone there to feel it and to live in it and to count it. But I'm rambling.

Thank you. What were you and your dad talking about regarding time? Wattpad isn't telling me when I have notifications so I didn't even see this message until I checked my emails :/

(there was a problem with my app and i couldn't read your message in full, sorry!) but yeah i find mandarin really hard, if it weren't for my mother forcing me into courses since i was six i wouldn't be able to speak it at all! i've learnt it for ten years and mandarin characters still make me dizzy no joke

Spanish and Portuguese are more closely related I think. Lots of european languages evolved from latin. They're called 'Romance languages' (that doesn't have anything to do with love). That's why they have so many words in common. For instance French and English are very similar. 40% of English words are borrowed from French. BUT English is a Germanic language because its syntax and main vocabulary is very similar to languages like German/ Dutch/ Afrikaans/ Swedish etc.

It really does feel easier. In travelling as well! I'm not sure about this, but between european languages like spanish and italian there are a lot of words in common, so people can understand each others' languages in part?

It makes perfect sense. It's a good thing to be multilingual nowadays because the world is operating on a global scale now so it's easier to get a job if you can speak another language.

What languages do you speak?? I don't have time to learn a new one but I'd really love to. I speak English best, but I speak Indonesian everyday and Chinese sometimes!!

It probably means sit up. I don't know what 'reh' means but 'op' means 'up'. Mandarin/ Cantonese is really hard, though. I can only say 'niao' :'( . I've always wanted to speak French, though. It sounds so smooth and romantic. Dutch has such gutteral sounds, same with Afrikaans and German.

@PorcelainChinaDoll mandarin! i'd like to think i can speak decently in conversations, but i'm terrible at writing. same with indonesian.

i've always wanted to know how to speak dutch; I had a couple of half-dutch friends growing up and my grandma could speak it too and it's funny when dutch words randomly slip out of her mouth. I'm not sure exactly what it means, but she often says "reh op!" or something that sounds like that whenever i slouch.

Hey! I speak English, Afrikaans (a daughter language of Flemish Dutch) and although I'm terrible at speaking it (I can understand it because my friends speak it) Xhosa (one of the click languages in South Africa). Other than that, I can read Dutch (thanks to knowing Afrikaans but I can't speak it).

Do you speak Mandarin or Cantonese?
