Mr. Pratik Shelke is a freshly graduated mechanical engineer, working as a Mentor at Haygot Education Pvt. Ltd. He is presently living in Pune, India with Hermione Granger, some more imaginary characters, and seemingly impossible dreams. Pratik says his nationally-acclaimed novel 'One Step Short To The Moon' was never something he 'wanted' to write, but 'had' to.
During his college days, apart from bunking lectures, daydreaming, and asking unnecessary Thermodynamics doubts to his crush, Pratik liked to be a cicerone through his personal experiences. Cicerone, ah! He learned this word today itself and applied it here to impress his readers. It just means he was and is, um... like that of Shah Rukh Khan from the movie Dear Zindagi. Yes, though a bit uglier. His Alias (and Varuns) include school students, JEE and NEET aspirants, engineering undergrads, serious writers, failures, lovers, startup enthusiasts, and 'square pegs in round holes.'
Pratik's biggest achievement was when the college that had turned him down a few years ago invited him later to deliver a talk at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit. The college was none other than IIT-KGP! Similarly, the huge amount of love that the paperback version of this book received, got him invited for interviews at Vokal, Reliance BIG FM, Aakashwani, and for talks at the Impressions COEP, Poddar International, Oxford International, NPS, and more.
