Have you guys ever read the fanfic called Gutters by a glassamilk? It's not on wattpad, it's in fanfiction.net but it is superb! I know I am 5 years late in reading it, but I just wasn't informed back then.
If you haven't read it, you must. It's an essential. Esseenntiaal.
So basically it's in a post-apocalyptic setting and survivors are trying to survive "The Calamity". It focuses on Northern Europe, but it does include many of the other characters. Sealand and his uncle.. try to locate the rest of their family.
It's heart wrenching.
I've obsessed over it. I was IN the story.. That's how I read. Everything that happens their happens to me. I can see it, smell it, hear it. It hurts, it burns. And I see the events unfolding across the blank, gray world. The emotions I feel color it and it feels realistic, authentic, genuine.
I was there.
That was the first ever close death I've ever had.
I didn't know it was so hard.
I'm sorry
