I'm am so tired everyday waking up to seeing people of color victimized. Like it is so draining waking up everyday to headlines of a minority being shot or beaten by the people we can only hope to defend us. What makes it worse is the constant defending and justification of people who are doing it. People have so much energy to defend killers, but not even care about the grieving family of the child or relative they just lost. Like how could anyone just keep defending people who have time and time again "messed up" aka kill people. Like imagine having instead of using all your energy for that you use it for anything good. Promote education, promote recycling, LITERALLY ANYTHING BESIDES DEFENDING KILLERS. Like is it your pride that makes you blind to the flaws in our police/government systems. Don't run away from flaws, you work to fix them. YOU DEFINITLY DON'T BLAME THE VICTIM FOR THE ABUSER'S FLAWS. I am so tired, literally after Derek Chuavin got finally prosecuted, someone literally in my city, a 16 year old girl got shot FOUR times by a police officer because she was holding a knife. Like everyday I have fear I wake up and see my family's name on the headlines. It's just so tiring, it really is. Instead of worrying about my finals or how I'm going to make it to work I and minorities everywhere have to worry about whether I'll survive the walk to my work or if my family will. Confidence and blind pride are two different things, don't be blinded by your pride.
