New Moebius Loop cover art. Not me blasting the Killzone ost while writing.

To be fair, this song matches ML perfectly: https://youtu.be/N-I8LZB-cRI?si=imaKKkVjC7tps2fG

I can imagine all the Federation and Pact ships in dock making their preparations and launching. Then 1:27 hits. Arno and Orelia are shown in the bridges of their respective ships. Espadon and Whitney launch: opposite sides of the same coin approaching one another as they prepare to enter battle. Then, Clemenceau and George are shown, being the people that they're fighting for. Arno, wanting to prove to Clemenceau that he's capable in spite of his heritage, not because of it. Orelia meanwhile wants to prove to George that he can be happy again, even if they lost her mother.

Arno and Orelia are not like the heroes of old. They don't have special powers. But they'll fight like they do. And I think that's why I enjoy writing it as much as I do, and why separating it from mainline Sonic in the way I did was the right choice.

Looking back at what I used to write feels so strange. I won't lie, my old stories were written out of anger and frustration. Granted, I was at my lowest, and the two franchises I had loved at that point (Sonic and Halo) were in a place I felt wasn't exactly great.*

Which is why I'm happy that I'm over all of that. Will I continue making fun of Sonic Frontiers? Yes. It's been three years, I still think it has literally nothing. Like it functions, but has zero entertainment value to me.

*This was right around when Halo Infinite was coming out. I wasn't really excited for it, because the Banished are, in my opinion, the worst faction in the franchise. I would unironically rather have had the Prometheans or M'dama's Covenant (whatever is left, lmao) than the "pick me girl" of factions. And for Sonic, this was when Frontiers was being revealed, and I called it with the reveal trailer that it would be "generic UE5 tech demo #829", which... In my opinion, it turned out to be.

Also, make no mistakes. I wanted to like Frontiers. I feel like I'm missing out on the party because I can't see what's so special. I feel blind. So yeah, if you see any of my memes about Frontiers, don't take it seriously. I'm intentionally hyperbolic about it for the funnies.

(I do still believe that Sonic is the lamest character in the franchise post Black Knight. Granted, that's mostly because it feels like, to me, he's the only character capable of doing something. Like the world revolves around him, and will simply implode if he doesn't exist. This franchise has so many characters, yet Sonic is treated like he's the only one that matters at the end of the day. You could remove everyone but him, and hardly anything would change, because everyone else doesn't matter I guess. Which is why I have so many important characters in ML with their own stories. The world would still exist if you removed Arno or Orelia.)

Love how when describing Arno's voice, I describe it as "a mix of a French and southern United States accent"

Arno is from Louisiana, apparently. *Vine thud*

Now that Arno is continuing to assault my sexuality by merely existing, I must vacate myself to thine bed.

            I'm fuggin' tired.

ACE COMBAT 8 RAHHHHHHH!

(Also, is it bad that I identified the aircraft carrier already? Endurance is an ESSEX class. Specifically, CV-36, USS Antietam, because she has the angled flight deck and twin 5"guns. For those who don't know, that's a WORLD WAR 2 era carrier vibing in 2029, in a world with futuristic super-planes. Getting serious Battlestar Galactica vibes, and I love it.)

@Sunniertoast Well, I COULD use one of those right now...

Me and my roommate were listening to the Spotify DJ on the way home the other day, and it decided to play a Sonic Frontiers song. While he is aware of the bit about my feelings towards the game, he doesn't have the soundtrack burnt into his brain out of spite like I do.

I've never seen someone look so genuinely confused at a song, lmao. Like me, he does like the guitar work. And that's it. Everything else is just noise to us.

Just like the game! I'm still questioning how they managed to make a game NOT made in Unreal Engine look and feel like a bad UE5 tech demo.

No, I will not stop! The rock that killed the dinosaurs was actually Switch copy of Sonc Frontrs that traveled back in time! /s.

Also some kid hit the door alarm like ten minutes after I clocked in to work, lmao. Fun times.
