I first began writing when I was seven years old. I started writing poetry about nature, particularly seasons. I wrote a lot of poetry up until I turned ten years old. I moved then and due to various reasons, stopped writing unless it was required for school. I always enjoyed reading and English class, especially when I had a teacher that had us do journal entries.
I've always been the type of person that had a lot of trouble composing a story, no matter what kind it was, but once I did I got a lot of compliments from my teachers. I remember it would always take me days the complete my writing projects, while most of the other kids completed theirs in one-two periods.
With me, writing is kind of like throwing up. It comes out unexpectedly and all at once. I scramble to get it written down before I lose it, and once I'm done there's this tremendous feeling of relief and calm. Bet you've never heard anyone compare writing to throwing up before have you?
I write to make myself feel better. So while they may not particularly be good, some people enjoy them and it's an accomplishment for me.
