Reminder/FYI for anyone who might need it: If somebody hurts you, you don’t have to forgive that person, nor do you have to keep that person in your life- even if it’s a family member. Should you forgive that person, remember that your forgiveness of their crimes against you doesn’t mean you should have to keep that person in your life, especially if they were/are a hurricane/typhoon to your peace, a teardrop/explosion of wrath that rains on/burns away your joy, and/or a death sentence to your livelihood.
And if the person that hurt you is a family member that tries to use the “BlOod iS ThIcKeR ThAn wAtEr” argument, kindly (or not-so kindly…your call-) let them know that that isn’t even the full quote, and that the actual quote is “The blood of the covenant/brethren is thicker than the water of the womb.”
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk and have a nice rest of your morning/day/afternoon/evening/night, mah mxnties!! Love y’all!
