Hello! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joseph Kuffer, and I am a 52-year-old volcano hunter and a bit of an aviator from the charming region of Alsace, near the picturesque city of Strasbourg. As an Alsatian, I carry a certain warmth in my heart, a love for good living, and a penchant for a good joke. My hair is as white as the peaks of Mont Blanc, while my moustache remains as black as volcanic ash. You'll rarely see me without my trusty adventurer's hat perched atop my head, or far from the cockpit of a plane, as I also hold a pilot's license.

My journey into the world of volcanoes began many years ago. I pursued my studies in volcanology right here in Strasbourg, before advancing my knowledge in the esteemed city of Clermont-Ferrand, nestled in the heart of France's volcanic region. The allure of the fiery giants was too strong to resist, and I dedicated myself to understanding their mysteries. After my studies, I returned to my beloved Strasbourg, where I still reside today.

Living in Strasbourg, with its half-timbered houses and winding cobblestone streets, provides a stark contrast to the wild, untamed landscapes of the volcanoes I so often visit. My home is a haven of peace, a place where I can reflect on my adventures and prepare for the next journey. As a volcanologist and a licensed pilot, I am fortunate to have a plane ticket at the ready, allowing me to travel whenever and wherever duty calls-or simply when the urge to explore strikes.

I invite you to join me on this adventure, to feel the ground shake beneath your feet, to see the world through the eyes of a volcano hunter and a pilot. Together, we will explore the wonders and the dangers that lie within the earth's fiery heart.
