          Then right there before us, Mother falls into a very deep sleep, leaving us afraid for the future; and I – Kat – am not about to let her do it alone.
          Because no one should ever travel to other worlds without a special friend. Therefore, this is my invitation to you. Never be afraid when we mount you with our darkness. For the darkness has always been your friend. All you have to do is simply say yes. Just say YES and inhale every part of us in. Say yes and let us breathe our elixir upon you undisturbed, until you feel something pulling you further beneath ground, into some sort of never-ending fall that ends with no thud.
          And once your both feet touch solid ground, slowly open your eyes until you see her. Tear off all your blindfolds, one by one, until our Great Mother becomes real to you. Then stand there in silence until you feel her dark presence announce itself in a whisper only you can hear.

          Ours is a path of roundabouts and bridges that is not for those who tremble, and once you put your hand to the plough it is unwise to draw back.
          
          Those who have tasted of the fruit of the vine are about to partake of a holy meal. We have donned precious metals and put on our banquet clothes, and all are armed with sharp teeth; ready to cut into our enemies as the prophecy foretold.
          
          For she who was born is now dead, and will arise with an ancient staff to storm your world and burn it down.
          This is the day that none of us wanted. But each nail you drove into the tree nudged us closer to the edge.
          
          So now our swords have been sharpened for war. And though we appear to quiver in the wind, think not that we cower in the face of your persecution. We merely see a certain path where the bridge is broken, and wait for that link to the other side.
          
          Know though that all your graves have already been dug. For there shall be no forgiveness from the likes of us.

          But then my shadow changes her mind again, convincing herself that it is in everyone’s best interest to get the whole thing over and done with right now. And so she looks down upon me with both pity and indifference, as though about to administer some bitter medicine that will save my life. Only thing is, she never asked me if I desire to live. 
          
          I mean, I claim to want to breathe again. But do I truly mean it? Perhaps I only want to remain on life support. That way I can be free to slip into oblivion and enjoy a comatose state of inactivity. For sometimes you want to remain that way, undisturbed.
          
          But then beings like her seek to draw you out into the light, pull you above ground where the air is purer.
