If any of you wonder where my username comes from, Aelthryth daughter of Alric is a character close to my heart. She was an Anglo-Saxon warrior queen, fearless and powerful. When given the option to surrender to her enemy, she chose instead to fight a battle she knew she could not survive.
Since her conception in September 2015, I have resolved to be a shieldmaiden, a girl just as brave as Aelthryth, even though I live in the 21st century. Her legacy propels me to be strong and unyielding.
When I'm not writing or daydreaming, I enjoy practicing Irish Gaelic, reading Tolkien or Beowulf, singing, playing violin, composing music, and pretending I can dance.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." --Joshua 1:9
