Hey, everyone! So some life updates and writing updates for the year.
When you go through difficult times in your life, it changes you. You can't help but be changed forever by your experiences. I'm sure some of you may have heard about the very bad winter storm, Fern, that hit the Southern portion of the United States. Well, I was affected by that. A tree fell and took the power line down that runs beside my house, the surge protector in the house caught on fire and started smoking when it happened, and another tree fell on the house and vehicle. Meanwhile, I was trapped in the house with no electricity for about 10 days with no heat except a stove burner. It was actually really terrifying to think during those two weeks, just how close I came to dying - that the tree that fell on the house could have killed me, the power surge fire could have engulfed the house and killed me, or even the extreme temperatures with no heat could have killed me. And that was a real thought that I had at the time: was I going to die? I kept thinking of all the things I never did and always wanted to do.
Going through something like that gives you a lot of time to think and pray, a lot of time to realize just how short life is and how you need to make the most of your time while you're here.
It made me realize too just how much I miss writing on here. When I lost my dad a year and a half ago, my life turned completely upside down. And I spiraled into depression for a long time which made me not want to do or be apart of anything, including my writing... But I finally feel like I'm in a better place now than I was when it happened. I'm not 100% healed but I'm healing. And I'm ready to get back to writing again which I've found that I really missed.

@Ajay-Kumar Thank you! It was actually terrifying - the whole experience. I was already scared of storms but this has just magnified things. But it definitely gives you a different outlook on life - makes you realize what's important and to make the most of your life while you're here ^_^

@EvadPendell Oh, this one is so good! I love how you used the metaphor of changing seasons to describe the changes of life and the years that go by. It evokes really beautiful imagery too with your wording. Truly amazing!!! ^_^
