Hello all. I've given this a lot of thought, and I have come to the decision to unpublish Egyptian Love.
The main reason is because I'm writing from the perspective of a character who's not the same race as me. Tiana is black, and I'm white. I obviously don't have the experience of living as a black woman, so I could be portraying her and my black side characters in an inaccurate depiction.
When I first started writing this story, I didn't find this problematic at the time, because I spoke with a couple of lovely MJ fans who gave me their blessing. But looking at it now, I realized I would be doing a disservice.
I'm very thankful for your support. I won't be deleting my profile because there are many authors I'm following. That includes black BTS fanfic writers (yes, I'm also a big fan of BTS).
I'm actually writing an original story, so I might post it on here in the future, if you'd be interested in reading it.
