I think I am able to write what I like by reading plenty other stuff that I like. You know how a couple Dr Seuss books will have you thinking in sing-song for hours? Same deal.

@mmhono Thanks for that. I am intrigued by glances and glimpses of lives that ain't mine. There are so many unimaginable differences shared by each unique perspective's journey. To walk a mile in someone's shoes is grand, and the heartfelt effort taken to experience the unique point of view from behind their eyes can transform and compassion us. I believe these traits of the genuinely curious allow us to live countless lives in this one we have now. Clearly, i enjoy rambling at times. Hah. Work together? How so?

The number on your book is its rank in its category. There is some algorithm used to rank books in a category, such as poetry. I think they use mostly the number of very recent reads and votes to rank books. If your book is ranked in the top 1000, then the ranking shows up on your page. If a reader chooses 'Discover' from the header and then the category of poetry, they will see all ranked books on the 'Hot' list in their order.
I hope that helps. And, I'm pleased to see your work being read so widely, in that case.
