I remember my first short story, written in grade school. It was about evil clowns, and was more dark humor than anything else. I found it years later and realize I had a natural knack for writing. My primary vehicle is poetry but I love writing long form fiction enough that I am willing to take on the struggle and stress it causes me. I type slowly, I have trouble with filler content (poetry tends to be a skeleton of a story) and setbacks such as the loss of much material from a novel length work to a broken PC. I have found my style through all that trial, error, and loss. I wrote like Vonnegut before I read Vonnegut, now I write even more like him. I also am influenced by W. S. Burroughs, his disociative style filters through my dark scifi humor, interjected facts and personal thoughts. So be warned that there will be jarring, sudden time/ reality shifts. There may be some long, boring descriptions of General Relativity but I'm trying to cut back. I also should mention my love (although influence, not so much) to Frank Herbert, not just his science fiction but his suspense stuff like Soul Catcher. Dune should be canon! I should mention musical taste but although I am eclectic The Raveonettes are pretty much everything right now. [edit] Previously I wrote that I wasn't going to post poetry on this site, but I have a book already nearly finished that I need to test run.
