R. I. Gaob Kawango is a Khoekhoegowab speaker and poet from Namibia and is the founder and administrator of the Khoekhoegowab Development Society.
His works are to be found under the pseudonym of
ǃGawax'ma ǃKhâxa ǀKharu ǀNaniseb being his African name derived from the ancient traditional name giving system of the Khoe people of Southern Africa, whereby a son was named after the mother.
The name translates as ǃKhâxa the son of ǃGawaxab, the One that carries the Royal Stick.
