@ROSESCOMEDOWN I'd categorize both of them as dark or borderline gothic fantasy writers. The books I've read by them have been dark spins on classic fairytales. Exceptional writing and world building for both! Of course, Maas still takes the cake IMO, but they're still great reads. Also, even though they were slower novels and a tad cringey, I still gobbled up the Caraval series. :*D (< my attempt at a crying laughing emoji since I can't add them here).

@HarlemDiggity I've read The Cruel Prince by Holly Black and I loved it! I've never heard of Gerald Brom or Naomi Novik. What kind of books do they write?
