i just think it’s sooo funny whenever ppl use the ”fae/faer pronouns are cultural appropriation” argument against trans or nonbinary people but then they go read percy jackson and dress up as tinkerbell for halloween
just say you only care about ca when it can be weaponized against someone you don’t like n go. you can’t just choose which ppl to be mad at for using pagan religious figures in non-religous context.
i have also noticed that many of these ppl who are supposedly mad are just white americans who want to be included in the ca conversation for whatever reason.
actually why r new age pagans more often than not either neckbeard neonazis or woke white spiritualists who want to be oppressed so bad
btw i dont think percy jackson readers, tinkerbell cosplayers or fae/faer users are appropriating anything as long as they acknowledge that pagans are a thing that exists i guess. like i wld think it’d be a bit hypocritical if someone liked the pjo but mocked hellenism ??
this is such a complicated topic and im too tired rn whoops
just wanted to point out that runes are not inherently racist or tied to white supremacy. they have been hijacked by neonazis even though they initially represented completely different things in norse mythology !! i don’t think it’s bad to be careful if you see someone with rune tattoos, because unfortunately they are used by many racists today. but pls remember that the runes themselves are not racist and are also used by many pagans (who are not necessarily racist) in their religious practice.
