Hey everyone! I was asked to let everyone know about this and I think its quite important please read and share this family is in my thoughts. Just wanted to update you with what has been going on. On Monday I received a call that all of my daughter's family were in the intensive care of LIJ hospital in Queens. My son-in-law had his fish tank cleaned a professional. He took coral and placed it in a sink inside the house and washed it with hot water. Unknowingly, this released a toxin that is said to be the worst natural toxin on earth. The entire familygot coughs. They received a call - the man who cleaned the tank was in intensive care. They were rushed to a hospital which has a haz-mat team. They all, including the baby, received a special decontaminating shower and were placed in intensive care units. Both Conner and Kaitlyn were placed in Pediatric intensive care. Naturally, Mike and I opted to stay with the children in the intensive care. Poor 3 yr old Conner had to have himself flushed with fluids and his blood drawn every 3 hours. Whenever anyone official passed by his room he started to scream. He has very little veins and had to be 'stuck' numerous times. Kaitlyn just 2 months old didn't know what was going on but both of them had abnormal blood tests and had to be monitored. My son-in-law had hallucinations and both adults had to have heart monitors.
I wanted you to pray for them. They are now all home after having the house decontaminated. This toxin causes muscle breakdown, heart damage, and kidney failure. I pray there will be no permanent damage. A this toxin was used by the Hawaiians to take down prey. It is used to euthanize animals. I can't believe is that it is legal to sell this coral to without warning. I hope you will tell everyone you know about this so that no other family gets hurt. Please keep little Conner & Kaitlyn in your prayers as well as Andy and Amanda. They are still weak and sick although they are home. Thanks, Karen
