I deeply dislike the amnesia trope where someone gets in an accident and completely forgets everything only related to one specific person. Like a lover or your closest friend.
But they do remember everything else, and let’s himself or herself completely be gaslit by some manipulative family member or ex that their “lover” never existed, that it’s just a stranger.
And said lover (or friend) does nothing or way too little to clear up the misunderstanding.
Like bro, if any of my friends suddenly didn’t remember me, I’d come with receipts. I have pictures and videos of us together. I have I letters and text messages with them. I have mutual friends who know how close we are.
You do NOT get to throw me out of your life just like that and I’d put in the effort to help you remember or to slowly build our relationship back up again.
I hate seeing these cardboard protagonists just “give up” and let months or years go by, mourning the relationship they once had.
BUT BISH YOU GAVE IT UP. Did it mean nothing?? >:0
If you are my ride-or-die I too expect you to fight for our relationship, both platonic or romantic.
Anyway, that’s my two cents.
I’m just getting triggered by some books and webtoons I’ve read, that brought in this trope.

I haven’t personally come across any fanfics with the amnesia trope that I’ve read, but I’ve heard of it and how it’s often badly executed And like your original post said, I’d FIGHT to be in some people’s lives, especially because (small vent here) I’ve always been without friends for nine years of my life until about a year ago. That’s literally from 5 when I was forced to move away from my one best friend. I only got my first, not fake friend, roughly a year ago. If it’s someone I truly care about, then I am FIGHTING to get my friend back. I only have a few and I care about them so much, so I wouldn’t let them go easily, especially if it’s some of my family members that it happened to

Since yesterday I can’t scroll through comments, and the whole comment section in my and other people’s books. I can’t read or react to stuff when it’s in a comment chain aaahhhhh!
Do others have this too?

@Runawaydragonet I’ve had that issue too, for the longest time and still to this day. Though I can deal with that, but my phone is feeezing up almost when I try to react comment chains and scroll in the general comment section when I click on it manually. Crazy how Wattpad used to work better, used to be add free and had many great features it doesn’t have anymore like three to four years ago and is getting worse with every update. :(

@RandomThingsOfMine if I click on the notification, it takes me to my story, but it's blank. Then I click the comment thing and it takes me to all the comments and I have to scroll through

I’ve just started watching Black Butler for the first time, after putting it off for years. And it’s sooo good! I already finished the first two seasons.
It’s really dark too, with cults, graphic murders, gore and plenty nightmare fuel. It’s definitely not for everyone but I’m hooked.
And I really feel the urge to write some oneshots for it, so I might soon. :3

@RandomThingsOfMine DAMN THAT’S SOME DEDICATED BINGE-WATCHING (says the one who literally binge-watched Squid Games S1 and S2 in two nights and S3 in one go less than 24 hours after release) But I am HYPED to get to the circus and school arc because A- I LOVE the circus aesthetic and have a whole story based around a messed up circus, and B- I’m praying that the school has that cool academia vibe and I also have a story based around a… concerning elite school (Spoiler alert: I like writing stories very much. I’m just too lazy and indecisive about lore to write them :3) Also why is that older servant such a silly guy Please don’t let him die-

@StarletteHostR3I HAPPY TO HEAR IT. BLACK BUTLER IS SO PEAK!! Okay sometimes scenes can very gruesome or upsetting (cause I feel deeply bad for our main protagonist trauma) but Sebastian makes it all worth it. I finished the third season now (the Circus Arc), I have yet to find the time to watch the next Axr but I’m excitedly it. The Circus Arc also has a lot of cool characters designs of the circus performers.

I’ve had that happen too. It really does suck!!
I always double check savings and press the save buttons every few minutes when writing even if it feels unnecessary.
Also make sure you have a good internet connection. When the connection is suddenly bad wattpad can just NOT remember saving the drafts.
