*Options are like buttholes...everyone has one and some of them really stink.*
I realized that my seventeen year old daughter is really beginning to grow up when she admitted to her friend that she still loves Twilight and wants to read it again. This is a reflection on her sense of individuality to me because when she was ten, everyone loved the books and the movies it was okay for her to love them. Since so many continuously hate on the books, movie, author my daughters option swayed to the negative side with the masses. Now she's ready to admit an enjoyment of something her peers wouldn't admit to in their sleep. This gives me pride in her growth as an individual.
Who cares if people who have never read the thing and probably would never read that genre anyway want to wax on and on about how terrible it is. Who cares if an author created a world where vampires sparkle. The series was not written to be horror. It is a teen romance series, written by a mother, who saved sex until marriage even in her fantasy world, get over it.
I read, I mean I read a lot! Sometimes I can't enjoy a sci fi book because my mind craves horror. Sometimes I gag at romance novels and only want fantasy and dragons. We're all entitled to our reading preferences. We're all entitled to our opinions, don't change yours for popular opinion.
Sometimes Vampires do sparkle.
