Hello everyone.
I just saw a girl posting a new story as her goodbye, saying she'll try to attempt suicide. When I read it, I was shocked. Shocked, that someone felt so betrayed by their own life that they are willing to end it. I don't want to judge the girl, it's her very own decision how to deal with her problems. But something shattered in my heart, knowing that all I can do is sit here and write her a message, hoping she'll see it before it's too late.
I'm studying to learn how to save lives. But saving a life isn't always just injecting medication into an IV or grabbing a scalpel to cut or a needle to sew. Sometimes listening is enough. Being there for someone when they need a person to give them advice, listen to their problems or complain with them about whatever unfairness they experienced.
Surgeons and doctors are needed to save a person's body. But saving a person's mind can be done by anyone who is willing to try and just listen to a person's needs.
So, everyone, try and be open, pay attention to the people around you. Be there for them when you sense they need you.
Become life savers yourself.
