Here's my prediction for Ghost of Yotei:
It is going to be one of those games in which if you skip the cutscenes and focus on gameplay it will not be bad. But the story is going to be terrible.
My reasoning,
Developer response to criticism: From what I've seen, some devs didn't like it when people had a negative opinion of the actress of the main character. They started insulting the public. The biggest flaw in this line of insults, is that they didn't take the time to notice that nobody was criticizing the character. They were criticizing the actress. Big game developers only do this when they know they've fucked up.
Misuse of diversity: When you focus on diversity it becomes a problem. For one, it's not even diverse anymore because you keep using the same generic butch type female. But it's a problem because when you prioritize diversity, you neglect every important aspect of a good story. Video games were much more diverse when they weren't trying to be.
Bad casting decision: Erika Ishii is a terrible choice for any acting role for several reasons. She cannot handle criticism even if it's the smallest nitpick. She holds extremist views such as "If you don't meet MY expectations, you're subhuman."
Every title she has been in has been a complete disaster, with every character she has voiced or acted as being worse. The most notable example being her role in Dragon Age Veilguard.
Majority fan request being ignored: Most if not every fan of Ghost of Tsushima wanted a direct sequel to Jin Sakai's journey. The best the developers could come up with was "his story is finished."
With fans responding with ideas. Jin training is the first true generation of shinobi. Or another Mongol invasion. This time being led by Kublai. The second idea is more popular due to how many directions it can go.
That is my reasoning for why I believe the new ghost game will flop.
