Hey, Raven! I am currently writing a blend of historical fiction, sci-fi and romance, where I am basically working with a bunch of both fictional and real differential and integral equations of physics and maths. For reaching a broader audience, should I only explain the scientific concepts through character voice or add some derivations or equations for authenticity?

dearest raven, please recommend your top ten poems.
i am kind of writing a crime thriller mystery novella where the main oc is a forensic criminologist and he's being moved to another place and ends up finding a case that might be tied to his family.
he's a character filled with deep grief and holding on to a blood-red rosary because of his constant interaction with death.
i need poems. they're raw and deep and would explain him so well. but i don't know where to start.
@starry_niwights1413 Hmm, a top ten? Sounds fun! Most of them I've referenced in Starfield and/or Like Crazy. That oc sounds like a good idea! Love seeing forensics in fiction. Before I decided on writing, that was one of the career paths I was actually considering. Kinda tough to choose a top ten list, but a rough list would be: 1. Do Not Go Gentle by Dylan Thomas (of course, as we discussed the other day) 2. Death Is Nothing At All by Henry Scott-Holland 3. Mother to Son by Langston Hughes 4. Dante's Inferno (I'd be a fake English major if this wasn't in my top 10 lol) 5. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge 6. The Raven by EAP (or any other poem by EAP tbh) 7. Because I could not stop for Death by Emily Dickinson (or anything else by her) 8. Uriel by Ralph Waldo Emerson (I prefer his essays, but still) 9. Honour's Martyr by Emily Jane Bronte 10. The Snow Man by Wallace Stevens I also recommend taking a peek at my Birthday Bash Mini Awards for both the "Best Poem" and "Best Poetry Collection" categories, as there were phenomenal poems submitted there. As a side note, if we're considering songs a form of poetry (which I do), then I strongly recommend Ethel Cain's music if you do not listen to her already, especially Family Tree, Strangers, and Punish. Her lyricism is out of this world good. I would also recommend A Grief Observed by C.S. Lewis, as it is an extremely compelling deep dive into feelings of grief. I hope these suggestions are helpful!

Wattpad has not sent out any notifs for the recent Bound In Roses and Chains updates. I posted a new chapter, but I don't know if the notifs will go through. It's beyond frustrating. So, BIRAC has been updated more than once recently, in case you haven't seen it. Sigh.
In other news, Catch Me If You Can is receiving Friday and Sunday updates. I finished writing it, so ALL of the updates are scheduled.
I have a new PJM book called The Trip of Love out now to celebrate @NotEvenEstella 's birthday. It's pre-written, meaning I already wrote the entire thing. It will receive DAILY updates! It's a fun fic, and it's clean! Yeah, ik, Raven wrote a non-mature story. There's a first for everything.
I overhauled my entire profile. Everything is in a series now, and I updated the bios of all my works to help protect myself from Teenfic and other mirror sites. I also have a contest overhaul coming soon that targets my older contests that regretfully have not been finished. I only haven't released it yet since I want to stay on track to finish the Birthday Bash first.
I have a new contest I will release in December, and it's unique from what I've done before. It'll be started and finished within 6 weeks, give or take, so it's fast-paced. It's not another prompt contest. You will have 100% freedom with what you write, including poetry. And there are also NO payments, not even follows. It's a 100% free contest. This does not impact the overhaul or Birthday Bash at all due to the nature of what the contest is. More deets to come!
Also, speaking of, the next batch of Birthday Bash results will come out very soon, as everything is just about ready, so you can expect intros by tomorrow night!
