Heyy loves! As you may know, I took down my old novels (including The Red Ribbon) and have been generally inactive on Wattpad. The site has simply changed and with age, I’ve outgrown it, but for those interested, I’m still very much a serious writer and plan to self-publish my debut novel in 2024!!

I am much more active on my instagram writing account (which features both writing advice posts + wip content), so if you’re interested in keeping up with me and my future writing content, follow me @gracieewrites on instagram!

Hi, there! I started reading The Red Ribbon, and it seems really interesting, well-developed, and well-written (even though I'm only two chapters in).

I was curious about something—the blurb for Liar, Liar is really intriguing to me, but I saw that you marked that sexual violence was part of the reason it was marked explicit. I just wanted to know how explicit it is in that regard... did you you include it in the warning just because it might bother some people, or are there scenes of that sort of thing in detail?

          Thanks!

You're welcome, and thanks for such a detailed response!

@intoTheShadowTrees Hi, thank you so much for checking out my stories and leaving comments on The Red Ribbon! I really appreciate it!

Liar, Liar (only after the first 20 chapters) is largely centered on sexual abuse and the impact it leaves on the victim. It does have a few explicit scenes (flashbacks) that would probably be difficult to read, but I made sure to mark those chapters with three aestricks (***) so they can be skipped. However, the topic itself is a recurring theme mentioned throughout the book, so please tread lightly if the topic itself is triggering for you. There are only a few scenes where sexual violence plays out (those scenes are focused on emotional impact, not the physicality of assault) and those chapters that contain them are marked by 3 aestricks so it's easy to avoid if you wish.

After 5 months of writing and stressing and over a year of being with these characters and connecting to their stories, I have finally finished the first draft of my duology's final book. DHJSJDBESJB. It honestly doesn't feel real, I could barely write the epilogue coherently, but it's finally done and I am RELIEVED. (I mean, I'm technically not done cuz I need to go back and tweak the epilogue and edit the whole book, but the first draft is finally lifting its weight off my shoulders and I'm gonna go celebrate by eating some ice cream now. ;) )

First off, thank you so much for 500 reads already! You guys are amazing! :)

Secondly, Letter 2 has been released. I believe Letter 3 will also be released mid-week, with Letter 4 (the final letter), being the only one that is released as a chapter on a regular Saturday.

I know it's not Saturday, my usual updating day, but "Letter 1" of Liar, Liar has just been released! Since it is short, I decided to publish it today. Chapter 8 will continue to be posted on Saturday like usual, but the updating schedule for the letters will be a bit different.

The letters are written by Ashley from the psychiatric hospital to her younger son, Rowan. There are 4 in total, most of which are chapter-length, but slightly shorter.

Although Letter 1 is released mid-week in between regular chapter updates, I cannot guarantee future letters will be like that. So that means that for some future letters, regular chapters will be post-poned on Saturday and replaced by the updates of long letters. Just a heads up to let you guys know what to expect. Enjoy reading! Ashley's letters are one of the most revealing, fascinating parts of the story :)

@GnomeMercy Lol, that's very true. That's how I managed to get over it. He was wayyy too good for Alina. Honestly, I think he's way too good for everyone, but Zoya can convince me otherwise if I continue KoS. (I got spoiled on the ending. I wonder what Leigh Bardugo plans to do with that, cuz it seems...repetitive? Like bringing back old things that should've been in the past, so I'm curious as to why she chose that route.)

Oooh, yes, read Opal first! I can send it to you through the DMs, if you want, cuz it's an e-book, not a physical story. Trusttt me, Call Down the Hawk is sooo good. I'm waiting impatiently for the second book (which Maggie has luckily finished writing already).

RavensOfOld

@GnomeMercy Lol, I stopped reading King of Scars cuz it was lowkey boring. I tried to continue, but just didn't have the motivation. When the second book comes out, I'll probably try to read it again.

Yesss, Call Down The Hawk, in my opinion, is better than all the TRC books combined, probably cuz I loved the Lynch brothers so much and always found the dreaming the most interesting aspect, so having it focused on in a whole trilogy is ideal. There's going to be a TV show that's still in development.

Lol, I actually liked Alina, cuz her personality and thought process was pretty relatable (she made me angry a lot tho). I actually hard-core shipped her and Mal in the first book, but then Nikolai came into the picture and I abandoned that almost immediately cuz compared to him, they ARE bland. I was so angry with her when she rejected Nikolai that I had to stop reading for a while, lol.
