Are all the notifications slow cause of Wattpad update or is that just happening to me?

So I basically need everyone to not post on message board and just post updates about the stories in the stories themselves because I don't want 50+ messages. It doesn't piss me off but it does destroy my curiosity? Patience? I don't it like the feeling of seeing a cliffhanger in your favorite show
