In addition to being an aspiring novelist and short story writer, Steve Ruiz is a doctoral student in mathematics at Arizona State University.  His stories and novels are inspired by his former lives as an engineer and a math teacher as well as his lifelong obsessions with mathematics, science, and post-apocalyptic fiction.

Steve lives in the Phoenix area with his wife and daughters.
