          Some facts about Neuville, character in the fic:
          
          Thierry is the 36 yo reigning World Rally Champion, driving for Hyundai. It was the first time a Belgian won. 
          
          He comes from a small town near Spa and is a native German speaker. He lives in Monaco with his partner and their 2 children.
          
          Thierry comes from a modest family and could only invest in his career after he got a job (!). He is known for his tenacity and never-give-up mentality. He's managed wins and podiums under incredible circumstances. He was a 5 time runner-up in the championship, has dozens of podiums and 21 rally wins. He had already been labelled one of the best never to win a title...until last season :) 
          
          Thierry wears glasses, orange frames in the car for most of his career, and it's become sort of his "brand". He is known for being a petrolhead and a chill guy, cool as a cucumber behind the wheel but gutsy and with balls of steel as a driver. 
          
          His biggest "controversy" was the split with his co-driver of 10 years, only 3 days before the start of the '21 season. It remains a mystery what happened but it was not in good terms. Martijn Wydaeghe, a Flemish little guy working for Hyunday and virtually unknown, jumped in the car for that weekend and incredibly they finished on the podium. And they've been together ever since.
          
          Rally drivers (and co-drivers) are pretty much batshit crazy by definition. Their versatility and ability to adapt to different surfaces and conditions is second to none. There is no glamour here like in F1, they change tyres and work on their car during the events themselves.

          ...and it's a crossover! F1 and Rally. With an original female protagonist.
          
          It is a departure from my usual stuff, to say the least! No drama or plot heavy stuff this time, but something "simpler"? Had someone told me I would once be making an attempt at writing a light romance for sure I would have rolled on the floor laughing. Yet, here we are. And in the words of every rally driver - this has been "challenging" ! 
          
          I think everyone in the motosport fandom knows who Charles Leclerc is ;-) But a few notes about my "obscure" protagonist - Thierry Neuville - will follow in a separate post.

Our Last Stand - Update (chapter 8)
          
          
          Hi all,
          
          This will be a pretty long chapter but I’m especially pleased I finished it, better or worse. Anxiety struck hard this past couple of weeks and it’s been difficult to get anything done. I’m on the mend now with some extra help, so here we go and thanks for the patience after a cliffhanger, from the few of you reading.
          
          A comment about the last chapter reminded me again of this video from DTS, of a certain Mr. Stroll arriving in France, so I thought I'd share because yeah, I cackled like the lover of villains that I am:

Hello everyone,
          
          New Story coming up, a follow-up to Dance Me To The Moon. If you read the first one, it is easy to see where the idea comes from haha, just happy this one didn't stay in the drawer.
          
          We get a look at Sebastian and Stella's life a couple of years later after the events in Dance Me To The Moon. It will be a short story, but still much bigger than what I originally intended, which was a (very much self indulgent!) quick one-shot!
