… Apologies, everyone.
I have decided against taking these stories off of Wattpad — and I know that after all the big buildup I did that sounds like a complete 180, but really, I think the only reason I almost took them off Wattpad was because at the time I had the idea of doing so, I was undergoing a period of intense shame in regards to my own writing.
This was not only due to my looking back at my entire series and unfortunately only being able to hyperfixate on all the mistakes in it, but also my reading about all the pet peeves that the readers themselves can have about writers, and criticizing my own work in the same lens.
However, as time went on, and I actually got around to transferring the whole thing onto AO3, I finally got to properly reread and reminisce about my stories’ plot, which led me to realize that it really was not such a bad piece of writing.
In fact, a lot of it made me laugh in the same way it had the first time I wrote it, and while in some cases it did genuinely make me cringe, in others it was like coming to appreciate it all over again, which made the idea of getting rid of it leave a bad feeling in my stomach, even as I stubbornly tried to stick to my word.
So, to conclude this ridiculously long yap (if you didn’t want to read all that, this is the summary) which is genuinely just a generic ‘I realized that I need to just enjoy my hobby as a fun thing to do without overcomplicating it with others’ opinions’, I will be keeping my works here.
