I live in a culture with a rich history of Warrior Maidens. Our current Queen was an archeologist with attitude, the match of of any Indiana Jones.
I'm not a fan of the Disney-fication of fiction (OK, yes, I do like BRAVE), but I got sick of reading fairy stories to my daughter where all the heroes were boys and all the women were wicked stepmothers or witches.
So I am slowly 'regendering' the old stories because ... why not?!
