I bumped into a 6th grade band kid and they said to "Move out the way, you shouldn't be taking the music hallway!" I take Jazz and symphonic this year and since I have jazz first then symphonic I stay in the same class.
The 6th grader had come back in to get something as I was heading to my seat with my trumpet. She was waiting for the teacher to get back so she stood in the front of the classroom giving everyone stares like she owned the place and knew everything.
I got up with my trumpet to get my folder. She giggled and said "Wow, a begginer! So funny!" I laughed back at her and said "Your looking at the wrong mirror kid. I'm just the reflection you want to be." I went back to my seat and my friend handed me a song. The kid was still looking at me but when I started playing her face was hilarious. She came over to watch and all I said was "Can a beginner like you play this, I don't think so."
Love being an experience school band musician
