Why does this happen where the main character just has to die in some odd way like a shooting or plane crash. I get so attached and then they die and I’m heartbroken

Sorry I haven’t started to add anything else to my latest story yet. I have been super busy and upset. I went to a doctor to only figure out I have severe to crippling depression. Hope to start back soon
