The words continue to flow. This time in Panama has proved a tremendous blessing. It was quite something to assist with a turtle release, having met Richard, who monitors the turtle nests and protects them from poachers. This poem was inspired by him.

The Panama Poems
In a story too long to tell, we have ended up on a surreally wonderful holiday in Panama. With time to let myself unwind and escape the tough challenges of recent years, including the third recurrence of H.'s cancer, and my father's death, I suddenly found myself able to write again.

There are a few here that have been sitting around for a while. Still waiting for the words to come back properly, but I will put up with fits and starts for now.
Blackbirds was inspired by walking through a part of Leeds last Autumn I wouldn't ordinarily choose to visit (Seacroft). There were high trees and blackbirds and I was reminded of how I used to love listening to them in the garden when I lived in Essex.
Helmsley 1 and 2 are what happens when you get old and you forget you have already written a poem about a day out with a friend.
